Vegetable Glycerine: The Secret Ingredient Powering the UK Fishing Industry
In the modern fishing industry, innovation and performance go hand in hand — and vegetable glycerine (VG) has quietly become one of the most valuable materials behind the scenes. From bait production to attractant formulations, VG plays a crucial role in helping fishing companies deliver better results, longer shelf life, and stronger product performance.
Why Vegetable Glycerine Matters in Fishing
Vegetable glycerine is a versatile, non-toxic, and odourless liquid derived from plant oils. In fishing applications, its main uses include:
- Bait preservation: VG helps retain moisture and prevent spoilage, extending the life of boilies, pastes, and liquid baits.
- Flavour carrier: It dissolves and evenly distributes flavours, oils, and colours — ensuring consistent attraction in every batch.
- Thickening agent: Its natural viscosity gives liquid additives a smooth, dense texture, helping them cling better to bait and deliver steady attraction in water.
- Eco-friendly ingredient: Being plant-based and biodegradable, VG supports sustainable and environmentally responsible fishing products.
